Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars New Album

The Xaverian Missionaries have worked in Sierra Leone is 1951. During the war years from 1999-2002, the country suffered much. Yet, in the midst of great violence, redemptive voices arose like this fine group that taking the world music scene by storm. Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars is a band of musicians who started playing music together in refugee camps while their homeland was being racked by years of bloody warfare. The band members are broadly diverse in age and character but they all have struggled to survive in one of the world's poorest countries, and they share an unwavering belief in the transformative power of music.
